Scheck Hillel is looking for a Middle School Judaic Studies Teacher and a Floater to join our Middle School educational team. This entry-level position will involve teaching three Judaic studies classes per week, while also providing support as a Judaic Studies floater in various classrooms throughout the middle school. This role is designed for individuals eager to grow and develop their teaching skills in a supportive environment and eventually teach a full schedule.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Teach three classes of Judaic Studies, focusing on an engaging curriculum that promotes a deep understanding of Jewish texts, traditions, and values  
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment for students  
  • Provide classroom support as a floater, assisting in various subjects and activities as needed, ensuring a smooth educational experience for all students  
  • Foster a positive and respectful atmosphere that encourages students to express themselves and ask questions  
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends in Judaic studies.
  • Serve as a modern orthodox role model 

Qualifications:  
  • Rabbinic ordination, seminary degree, bachelor’s degree in Education, Jewish Studies, or a related field is preferred  
  • Passion for educating teens: boys and girls.
  • Excellent classroom management, differentiated instruction skills, and organization skills. 
  • As a collaborative working environment, must be a team player and be proficient with instructional technology.
  • Flexibility and ability to work within an encouraging fast-paced environment where developing positive community relationships are critical.
  • Experience teaching Judaic Studies in an Orthodox environment.
